Who We Are

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) seeks undergraduate students interested in acquiring formal technical and business skills in Information Technology support roles.  The OIT Student Internship program enables students to gain valuable entry-level knowledge and experience. 

As a student in the internship program, you will initially be enrolled in Level 1. Over two semesters, you will be provided introductory training and exposure through OIT’s five front-line, customer-facing teams and support services.  After completing level 1 based on your area of interest, you will be placed within a specific unit and provided increasingly complex training and hands-on experience.

 

Responsibilities

As a student enrolled in OIT’s Internship Program, I must be currently enrolled in Georgia Tech classes to be eligible for employment. Maximum of 20 hours per week depending on course schedule, citizenship restrictions, and load requirements. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following skills and tasks: 

  • Operating phones lines and customer support channels
  • Provide customers with technical and multimedia assistance, including troubleshooting printing or computer issues. 
  • Manage plotter printer operations, including assisting with job submission, printing, and payment collection. 
  • Equipment lifecycle, including imaging new machines and preparing older devices for surplus.
  • Triaging incidents received through ServiceNow by the OIT-Triage group.
  • Accompany Audio Visual FTE or Sr SA in the field to respond to ESD calls in classrooms, install classroom technology hardware and assist with editing educational videos
