Undergraduate Student Assistant
Remote, Part-time Position
PACE provides hardware, software, and user support for campus-wide HPC (high-performance computing) clusters used by hundreds of Georgia Tech researchers. Our cluster provide massively-parallel hardware, including multi-core and GPU. Researchers run novel simulation, data analytics, and AI/ML workflows.
Job Description
In this position, you will contribute to user-facing web portals for our campus-wide HPC (high-performance computing) clusters. These web portals are used by researchers to develop and run high-performance simulations, data analytics, and AI/ML workflows.
Responsibilities
• Develop additional capabilities of PACE’s Open OnDemand (https://openondemand.org/) instances
• Use bash, Python, and JavaScript to expand capabilities of existing OnDemand applications (such as our Jupyter and RStudio services)
• Use bash, Python, and JavaScript to introduce new OnDemand applications (such as TensorBoard and ParaView)
• Use JavaScript, HTML and CSS to improve the UI/UX of the OnDemand portal
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Registered undergraduate student
Preferred qualifications:
- Familiarity with Linux command line and bash scripting
- Familiarity with Python
- Familiarity with or ability to learn JavaScript
- Ability to learn new technologies based on developer documentation
Interview requirements: If you are offered an interview, you will be required to do the following:
- Prior to interview, complete a take-home coding challenge in bash and Python
- During the interview, demonstrate your ability to use the Linux command line in response to the interviewers’ questions
